I would.

Not good enough.

We have good numbers at prop, what we lack is some quality given the Burgess situation.

He doesn’t add quality and would only get a game if we had a number of injuries and probably at the cost of giving someone like Kilner more experience.

Is he any worse than the two great prop signings for last season, Burgess and Clarke?

We may as well go with the youngsters. I would prefer Nav to Clark but not by much. We are fine for props without having the one top notch middle that we need. If it were not for Covid the likes of Kilner would have done their year out on loan and been looking for a snif of a start. Strangely enough I see Smithies as being the most vulnerable of our middles, being the lightweight, who apart from the tenacious tackling does not have the all round game to compensate.

He was only on loan for the season, but for some reason not given a squad number in spite of the club holding his registration.

Clarke on the other hand who we understood was to leave has been given a squad number which makes you wonder if he is now being retained now that that all rumours about Thompson has died down and the club reported as saying they are not making any more signings.

And what is happening with Josh Woods who was only on a season long loan at Leigh, but no news about his future either by the club or Leigh Centuriuns.

The clubs reporting of players being retained or released at all levels is poor to say the least!

Even the player profiles on the club website are not up to date as many of the 2020 first team fringe, Under 18 and Under 16 Academy teams have been released over recent weeks.

The reporting of player movements by the club leaves a lot to be desired, especially when supporters are getting informed by by the social media rather than or before the club release any news.
