You comments about Clubb being deadwood are out of order as he and indeed Flower have been two good prop forward signings which is more than can be said about George Burgess who appears to have been signed by the club, not only with a bad injury and unfit, but also on reputation as being one of well known Burgess Brothers.

I agree with some comments particularly about Flower and Clubb who have both been great servants to Wigan.

I may be in a minority in fact I will guarantee I am but I still think Clubb has something to offer in 2021 coming into the team if/when we pick up injuries. His experience and leadership I think will be very valuable to us on and off the field.

The signing of George has been questionable but to discredit his career is almost as disrespectful as generalising someone because of there heritage.

George Burgess was probably the better of the twins prior to his injury troubles. During Souths Championship year he was probably the best Prop on the planet and probably the best of any of the Burgess brothers.

Out of order? Come off it. Clubb does 15-20mins per game and makes little no no impact whatsoever. Clubb was a decent prop for us. He isn’t anymore. He’s deadwood and a drain on the cap, as GB has been this season. The decision to offer him a contract extension was bizarre. It’s long overdue he moves on, good servant for the club, as Flower was too - but times time.

Even if I am right we need to shift someone else (lets exclude the George staying or leaving for the second) as a 40k player is not what we need unless there is a real bargain out there.

Well yeah presumably we could bring in a low-end reserve if we really wanted to. What I'm trying to say is it's not like we can just add the salaries of Wood and Shorrocks together, add them to any loose change we have left under the cap and bring in someone good. Even though we're saving money, this is unlikely to impact our cap position much.

I don't think it's quite in the same bracket as saying someone should be aggressive because of where they were born.

Spot on

When you factor in Salary Cap, 8 subs, 6 again rule, you cannot afford too many passengers in game (Clubb, Lockers) and passengers outside of the game with injuries (Clubb, Lockers, Flower) and those who are simply never in contention (Clarke, Hankinson, Jake Shorrocks).

My comment about Kibula coming from Africa have as usual been take out of context as I was only trying to say that for a lad of his size, you would think that he would have more aggression.

Perhaps I should not have mention were he came from as I should have known that it would offend the some of those who come on the website.

Wigan didn’t decide yesterday that Shorrocks was leaving, they knew months ago. Maybe the money has already been used to either keep French or Hastings or towards bringing Bateman back? The facts are that there will be nowhere for Shorrocks or Woods to play this year if they stayed, don’t be surprised if a few more fringe players move on? Some may only be a bus ride away when they get there?

I watched him at Thatto heath in the challenge cup when he was at Dewsbury on loan and he got thrown about like a rag doll. They were rubbing his face in the mud and he showed zero aggression. At that point i knew he wouldn’t make it at Wigan.
