Tom Burgess/Jake Emmitt/Larne Patrick all OOC at the end of this season.
All three are top forwards in my mind.
I wonder if we could snare one of them?

Three cracking young players. If Patrick can cut it at prop then I'd have him along with Burgess. I'm not convinced Emmitt has it in him to be a top notch player. With those two hypothetically at the club, who would be our first choice of props in 2013?

Mossop and Lima / Prescott for my money, with Burgess and Dudson on the bench.

Patrick is a back rower IMO, he has to much speed and mobility not to be used out wide. Not saying he could not develop into a prob, just not for a few years.

I think we can do better than Emmitt, I'd take Patrick and Burgess any day of the week though.

I can see tom burgess heading to Aus to join his brothers at the end of the year. It's got to be worth a punt on him though.

I like Emmit to be honest. He's a big lad but looks mobile and makes good yards. I think he would be a handy signing especially after another years experience at Cas and it would be one in the eye of Saints if he ever did end up here and became top class.

Tom Burgess should be the main target though and I don't see why we should wait. I'm sure we have the space under the cap to make a move and with the club running at a profit in the past couple of years as well as recieving money from Joels move surely we could afford to pay sensible compensation for him.

I agree. He isn't in the same class/potential as Patrick and Burgess, but he's 23, over six foot and at a good size, had a very good season with Castleford last season. He reminds me a bit of Andy Coley and I think if we signed him he could be that sort of player for us. I'd certainly monitor how he goes this season at Castleford. Not wishing to discount how Crosby and Spencer might progress, but props win you pots and with Fielden well into the twilight of his career (and after picking up a serious injury last year) it's worth looking about the league for the top talent.

Tom Burgess I'd pursue very aggressively. We have money and cap space. With all his other brothers in Aus and Bradford in decline I'm sure he could be persuaded.

Me to. I think we've signed 2 potentially good players for us and with the environment they're coming in to here they should really improve.

I look at Flower and a bit like Faz and Tuson I worry about a lack of size but it's not the be all and end all. As for Dudson he looks raw but with the work we'll get in to him I think he could be huge for us. He looks the sort that could be very good as long as he's willing to work hard and get in prime shape.

Our pack looks potentially very good. It has a good mix and balance to it. We need to keep progressing though and we should be monitoring the situations with guys like Emmit, Burgess and Patrick.
