If there’s nothing in it, just say so and everyone moves on. It’s simple.

He wouldn’t want that though. That would remove the attention from his name.

It could be a reference to him not being "match fit"

That's the problem, you never know.

I love Hastings as a player and would much rather than he was in a Wigan shirt than not but you have to wonder how long it is before the club has a word about his social media activities.

Yeah, that's what's probably skewed my leaning towards Gildart. I thought he's got a few highlight reel moments in this locker like his try for England or his big play in the GF.

Like you've pointed out DG played in far worse sides and didn't even play in big games at centre, nevermind having an opportunity to make a big play.

It's a mute point anyway. My point OP was more about confirming my agreement that Gildart is a good player and more than capable of playing in the NRL. Doesn't really matter if he's was or wasn't better than Goulding.

Think it's a poor effort at trolling given that Goulding's main strength was that he put his wingers away. I don't agree that he was better than Gildart is though. Both of them not great defensively, Gildart has more attacking prowess. Who was it he lost his centre spot to and ended up on the wing? What manager was that under?

From memory he didn't do too badly on the wing either!

'Do you remember when we had that meeting in Orlando? We talked about how we were knocked out the previous year by Leeds. And at the end, I asked you one question. "Do you want to be a semi-final team? Or do you want to do something special?" You all said you wanted to win. But talking is easy – it needed you to believe. It needed you to work hard – harder than you had – and make sacrifices. You did all that. you worked for each other. You stuck together when it was tough. And because of your efforts, you sit here tonight as champions. I'm proud of you. Be proud of yourselves. You've done something special.'

Shaun Wane's post-Grand Final speech. 5th October 2013.

Gleeson?

Probably the reason he suddenly became a decent winger! :D

I don't "do" social media other than this platform but from what I hear from people who use other platforms Hastings seems a little different maybe even a little narcissistic but I couldn't possibly comment.

Gleeson is probably the last top class "wingers" centre we have produced in this country. Every winger outside him scored tries.

There's very few of them left in the game to be honest. There's some terrific athletes like Staggs and Crichton, but not many Gidley's, Gleeson's or Garnier's. I really hope someone like Bradman Best can spark a bit of a minal revival for that type of player.

There's an argument to say he was produced in Australia.

Narcissistic is probably right. He claims he hates the media spotlight and speculation but does everything to encourage it or ensure it continues. He says he’s matured and wants to go back to the NRL to prove a point; IMHO he’ll be back in SL in 3yrs with Salford again with his bottom lip out after having learned no lessons whatsoever continuing the JH show.

I’ve really turned off him, he’s a fantastic player no doubt but I genuinely believe he thinks he’s bigger (and better) than Wigan RLFC. He’s thriving in the media spotlight and being the centre of the speculation whilst it does nothing but harm the club the constant speculation and questions.

It also doesn’t help having Lam/French on the type of deals they are too.

McAvoy, Radlinski (when he came back), Bailey, Gleeson. Not sure whether Phelps was preferred to him at one stage too.
