We are playing players out of position.

Playing Hardaker at fullback and French on the wing isn’t playing people out of position.

but not in their favoured position, Farrell isnt out of position as hes played centre before....

Well Hardaker has made it clear fullback is his favoured position so your first comment is incorrect, and to be honest I’ve not heard French say his favourite position is 1 but I may be wrong.

All I can say is this.

Hardaker is a fullback who has played well at centre and can play there well.

French is an outside back. He has done a wonderful job at 1 but he has also played some fantastic rugby on the wing in his time in the NRL.

Faz is a secondrow filling in at centre due to circumstances. He is playing exactly as a secondrow does but just in a wider channel.

Few times last night he could have put Hanley into space but his natural play was to either run an unders line or look for contact.

Hardaker at the moment is playing as well as French did at 1 last year. We have an issue on the wing at the moment. French can resolve that issue so for the balance of the team in my opinion we should give it a go.

but so has french so its not incorrect, Zaks an outside back and won grand finals and played in the NRL there and played some wonderful rugby from there and also played wing, French was the best player in the league last year, Zak isnt at that level this year, we could play Zak at wing as hes played there before....

With it being York next week I'd probably experiment with a couple of combinations during the game. Something like
1st half - Hardaker - French - Halsall - Bibby - Hanley
2nd half - French - Bibby - Halsall - Hardaker - Hanley

No substitutions required, see which combo looks better before you put Isa and Farrell back into the centres for the next SL game (unless Gildart or Manfredi is back then)

It is incorrect or at least partly.

It’s correct we could play Hardaker on the wing but he isn’t as accomplished or experienced there as French is.

He was actually pretty poor there when he played for Penrith so it would be putting a square peg into a round hole.

We have options and balance.

I think at the moment Hardaker is playing as well as French did last year at 1.

French is an accomplished winger as well as a great fullback.

I don’t really understand why you have such a bee in your bonnet over playing them in those roles and to see how it impacts both their individual contributions and also the team.

Our issue at the moment is at centre and wing,

It seems the centre issue is due to resolve itself sooner than the wing issue with Gildart apparently due back before our 2 frontline wingers, so in the mean time it makes sense to try get our players back in there natural position as and when they return.

Hence my thoughts of French on the wing and Hardaker at 1.

both our wingers are due back within the next 2 weeks or so is it going to be fixed quicker than that as I though Gill was only due back then? Wont be fixed with our first choice centre filling in at fullback
