6 into 2 wont go. Surely Wigan will have to get rid?
It's called squad rotation and it will probably keep us successful for the next five years. As long as we are under the 'live' salary cap then we have no need to get rid.
JRD - What are your opinions on Lima not making the NZ squad? Especially with Moi Moi out now...
Very surprised. Lima, Asotasi and Moimoi are New Zealand's best props and without them the pack will be much weaker. Particularly since it will really lack a hard-working mule. Players like Waerea-Hargreaves and Nu'uausala will provide big tempo runs but they will be missing that solid platform that Lima and Asotasi lay. Kearney knows Lima very well from his time in Melbourne and has always indicated that he rates Lima very highly, so I suspect there is some other reason -whether injury or personal- for Lima being omitted.

Can Finch kick? That's the area of the team that needs the most improvement. Deacon is obviously excellent at it, but we'd be mad to rely on him all next season.
Finch has a good kicking game without it being spectacular. The biggest thing is that he hasn't been kicking all that much over the past two seasons, so it may take a while for him to get back into the swing of things.
Farrell is already close to going past Hansen imo.
I'd say Farrell is past him already Dave although to be fair to HH he's had his fair share of injuries this year so its hard for him to be a consistent as he was last year.
Farrell is streets ahead of Hansen already in my eyes. His performances towards the end of the season where brilliant. Never seen anything like this from Hansen.
But you're right, something has got to give. Even if Mossop and Hock move to prop, we have an embaressment of riches.[/quote]
However Hock will not be available untill the midle of the season and as this year has shown it is likely we will get some injuries. ie mossop and hansen have missed large parts. O'Loughlin issed games so as the seaso starts with 4 from 7 I think this gives great coverage. There might be an argument for a loan of Tuson on a weekly recall. But the main thing is there is going to be graet competition for places.
I think the coaching staff are smart enough to deal with any problems. If we are getting a good run with injuries I wouldn't be surprised to see Tuson (for example) go out on a short term loan to give him regular matches.

With Paddy out I think we will line up something like this next year...
1. Sam 2. Goulding 3. Gleeson 4. Carmont 5. Roberts 6. Finch 7. Deacon 8. Fielden 9. Leuluai 10. Lima 11. Hoffman 12. Joel 13. O'Loughlin
14. Prescott 15. Coley 16. McIllorum 17. Farrell
then we have the rest of the players....
18. Hansen 19. Mossop 20. O'Carroll 21. Davies 22. Tuson 23. Logan 24. Charnley 25. Marsh 26. Karl Pryce (Im guessing he will sign up) 27. Pat Richards (injured, no doubt superman will start) 28. Mellor 29. Jack Hughes 30. Powell 31. Hock
Not a bad squad is it? A certain Superman is a certainty to get back in the squad but no doubt madge will make him work. I can see O'Carroll going out on loan and maybe marsh/charnley
Oh my good god, that starting 13 is frighteningly good!!!! And look at the bench, that bench would walk into nearly every starting 13 in SL. Id expect Hock to be in the 17 after a few months aswell.
