We could have all predicted that Gildart was leaving, that Hastings and French didn't want to come back, that Williams may sign for us, no warrington, no us, no warrington...

I’m starting to think it’s LeBron Curry Pokey on the wind up. I can’t believe he was getting thanked yesterday for keeping people updated with what’s going on within the club

I’ve yet to see him give an inside scoop on anything that has come off or even be rumoured to come off. If somebody had inside knowledge on us putting bids together for players like Thompson, Tomkins and Williams, I think they’d also be trusted with info that we’re in for a winger from London or a couple of Leigh players. The first time he mentioned Oliver Holmes was after he signed for Wire

I’d take the guys info on the other site with a pinch of salt. We upped our offer for Williams, pulled out, put offers in for Tomkins, Tom Davies, Thompson and Holmes, had them all turned down and then went the other way and decided to go nowhere near the cap all in the space of a few hours on Monday. The only time he ever puts a name on a rumour is when a player signs elsewhere and he then goes ‘yeah it was him we wanted and that’s why it hasn’t happened’. Williams was coming but might not but might do but only on a verbal agreement basis and if he doesn’t then he’s changed his mind and he’s still coming but now he’s not but we’ve put in a late bid and now he’s not coming. All updates that run on a timeline alongside what your hear in the press anyway.

Where’s Karl Pilkingtons BS Man when you need him!

2022 I think may be a big year for IL in terms of legacy and the historical importance of the year.

I have no idea who the big signings will be but I'm pretty sure that there will be big signings announced later in the year. I would have loved Williams to be one of those signings but if he isn't then so be it.
I can envisage at least 2 senior props and 1 new centre being signed for the 2022 season.

Like yourself if we could pick up Sezer from next year I think he would be a great acquisition to complement Smith. Whatever happens I wouldn't be surprised if TL does another year.
Hopefully French will trigger the additional

I am not panicking at the moment on the apparent lack of quality signings. IL on the whole has put his hand in his pocket to keep the club afloat and to deliver some quality signings albeit with the odd hiccup. IL has a love of the history of the club, probably more than most fans, so I'm quietly confident some quality signings will come along for 2022.

I’d be surprised if we went in next year spending less than the cap allowance based on the comments they’ve made about 2022 being a huge year due to the anniversary. He’s a big one for the history of the club Ian Lenagan and I think he’ll want next year to be a really successful one (not that he doesn’t want that every year but I sensed at a fans forum a while back that next year will be targeted). The Wane rumours gathering pace would add to that feeling for me.

Are we going to celebrate it again in 2029?

Wire losses, you'd have to imagine we're in a similar boat, I'd sooner see us do some serious cloth cutting if it means having a club in the future

Possibly

They’re certainly pushing it being 150 years next year from what they were saying but I see two dates of us being formed when I look about for info. One being 1872 and one 1879. I’m not quite old enough to remember :D

George Burgess on the OOYL podcast - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_XTHkfOvBM

He sounds pretty set on going back to Australia to revive his career, probably from the lower leagues upwards.
