In all fairness to Leuluai he's been excellent in his last two games at halfback. His kicking game is poor, that counts against him but his passing has been fantastic, particularly on the occasions that he's been putting Tomkins through gaps on the right hand side. He seems more comfortable passing left to right than Deacon ever did.
Thomas Leuluai is an outstanding world class rugby league player and I'm extremely glad I've had the pleasure of watching him perform what ever position during his spell at Wigan. I think it's disrespectful to him and what he's achieved to claim Owen Farrell would do a better job.
Thomas Leuluai has been great for us at 7 and at 9. Yes he has his flaws but he has been an absoloute pleasure to watch in the cherry and white, always gives 100% an agressive runner of the ball, good passing game and plays the game at a good pace whatever the position. His defence is second to none, he used to get done by footwork quite alot but he has sorted that area of his game out and some of his hits are outstanding.

From outside looking in Tommy is a better 9 for you guys, but he really pulled it out of the bag at 7 in the GF a couple of years ago. I agree that writing him off compared to an unproven youngster is silly.
Union and League are different games and the level of proffesionalism in both means success in one may not translate to the other.
