Coach does well in the championship, with a championship level side. He then doesn't replicate that success in SL with a championship side - who'd have thought.

so danny ward does well in the championship with a championship side so will do well with a superleague side? Leigh arent a championship side otherwise all their players wouldnt be getting snapped up....

Danny Ward did well in SL tho. They beat us and competed in a number of games.

It’s a bit like us having cap space at the minute but do we have the money to use it? London had the ability to spend up to the cap but it’s extremely doubtful they even got close looking at their squad. I’d hazard a guess Leigh are spending more.

Leigh are no where near the cap, London had all their cap paid for by TV money, Leigh are self funded for their team, thats why its a small squad and have had to release 2 of their highest earners this week, plus they dont have an academy to fall back onto

Not bagging Leigh’s efforts, they’re being unfairly treated when it comes to the tv money and the impossible task they’ve been left with but London did a great job in the season they did and they didn’t exactly do it easy. They had a couple of months to prepare and they were starting out with a squad with far less top level quality in it than Leigh were. There promotion in the first place was a huge shock due to the squad they had on paper. I thought Ward did an amazing job in that season with London. If that’s enough to put him in contention here who knows.

same as Leigh they just had to sign people without contracts like Gelling, but Duffy was poor and Ward is good?

I’ve not mentioned Duffy, simply pointing out London didn’t have it easy and Ward did a great job in that season to push it as close as he did.
