Really excited by both these signings if they turn out to be true.
Mago has a similar style to Jason Taumalolo was hard to tell them apart at times when they played together at the Cowboys. He is an all action prop who has natural size and aggression but is apparently very clean living off the field. He brings size and no nonsense style of play.
Ellis isn’t as big but still not small would think he would be 6’2” and not far off 17 stone. He is a pretty smart ball handling prop who can go on at first man and direct play a bit like James Graham used to. He had a bit of dog in him. Likes a confrontation and to get into the opposition. He also seems to have a natural ability to turn in the tackle and offload.
Both make pretty strong post contact meters so it will be interesting to see how they play for us.
What is exciting for me is both are growing into their NRL careers. Ok they may not be 300 game vets but year on year they have tended to pick up more games to date.
If they are here for 3 years we will have both in the better years of their careers.
I can see Ellis getting quite a lot of game time at 13.
Surprised either hasn’t been retained in the NRL. Certainly both good enough.
