I actually wouldn’t mind if he signed.

He’s a really good leader and he has a good running game so would compliment Smith really well.

He struggled when he has to be the midfield general but if he is allowed to play a free role invariably he is pretty good.

He certainly isn’t the half we all want but looking around it’s starting to look like very slim pickings.

I’m starting to think we will be going with Field and Smith as our halves next year.

Yeah I would be happy with any experienced addition to our halfback options at this stage, loads of pressure on two unproven halves otherwise.

As a squad player and if Field proves to be a decent 6 then Miller maybe an option
Rightly or wrongly I would just find it it a bit meh.
Maybe I’m being unrealistic and Field maybe is a superb signing and then Miller could be a a smart and relatively inexpensive signing

Except it’s not tough. Bateman, Farrell and KPP are quality. The rest are championship level

Options aren’t exactly in plentiful supply sadly. I’d like to think we’d be in the mix for Trueman but Wire had a bid of 150k turned down and if we can’t afford Williams, we clearly won’t be in for Trueman.

We could do worse than a trio of Miller, Field and Smith I suppose and if you get your pack strengthened sufficiently, it makes the halfbacks jobs easier. Hopefully the two NRL forwards will help on that score and also help take the pressure off the young forwards and get the improvements from them you’d expect.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Flanagan.

Whilst the two situations/circumstances are different, he's roughly the same age as what Hastings was when he came over. Hastings was obviously a more assured player, but Flanagan can play and he's a 80%+ goal kicker too. It's worth a conversation at least.

Other than that, I wonder if there's any conversations to be had over Brodie Croft. He's definitely on the outer at Brisbane who look to be retaining Kelly. I'm sure the Broncos would be open to releasing him.
