Gildart is a quality player although the lad has had his injuries this last season and a half. Hardaker is a very good full back and a quality centre. If he does leave he will be missed both for his play and goal kicking. We would only have one goal kicker if Zac left and this is not a good position to be in.Should Smith take a knock or suffer an injury then we are stuck!
Who the club bring in and whether they can kick goals could be crucial. Goal kicking is vital to Cups and Trophies so I do hope this is addressed when signings are to be made.

11 years of final after final and trophy after trophy puts your point to bed. If IL hadn’t bought Wigan I dread to think where we’d have ended up. And it’s not just the trophies either, it’s our whole faculty and facilities we now have, building and secured the club for the next generation.
If the Oxford fan you say came on ever existed said Lenners would be bad for our club; well if this is bad, I’d love to know what good was.
If you are so happy with everything the club has done/is doing then why are you complaining about the quality of signings on another thread?, This is exactly what the Oxford fan was warning about, The lack of quality signings after getting rid of quality signings.

So hang on. Some imaginary oxford fan came on here and declared that in 11 years, after a trophy haul most other teams would be jealous of, wigans recruitment would be mediocre?

I will give Whiffy a bit of slack on a supposed comment about Lenagan running a business in to the ground. I know from personal experience that he’s been known to let one or two fall in to ruin but these weren’t sports clubs and I doubt he had the feeling for them that he’s got for Wigan Rugby League club. He’s been sensational for Wigan. He’s having his first bad spell IMO and faces his biggest challenges over the next couple of years but I wouldn’t put it past him to turn things round.

You do know you can be happy with what’s happened before and not be now, right? Or should I be calling for his head on a stick because we’re after Iain Thornley and not Tom Trbojevic? Because that’s essentially what you’re saying.

Exactly, we've signed Man Of Steel Hastings, the Melbourne trio, former Man of Steel Hardaker along with a number of astute signings from abroad as well as the UK (Blake Green, Richards, Carmont, Deacon... etc. All this whilst producing players that have come through the most envied Academy in World Rugby year after year after year.
