I’m not sure on that, I do think Miller is a good player and could be Blake Green like ‘but’ Blake Green came in to a good side, a confident side and a side packed with experienced leaders and Miller wouldn’t have that. He’d be the main man in the halves pretty much. I’m not sure on his character, maybe he’d love that but Wigan is a damn site different to Wakefield.

We'd definitely be looking at him to fill a leadership, or at least, experience head type role.

FWIW, I don't think we're miles away when it comes to leaders. Guys like Bateman, Faz, Isa, Powell, Singleton, Zak etc have been around for longer than a minute or two and have seen it all.

Like most things imo, all roads point towards Lam. He's the issue. He's the problem and when he goes, we will get better. All a new coach needs to do is get 10% more from the above guys. Get them focused on the task at hand and we're half way there.

They’re good lads and experienced heads for sure. I think realistically they’re just not quite Lockers, Tomkins, Micky Mac, Richards etc when it comes to having that aura about them, so Miller would need to hit the ground running and command the ball and the control of the team. It’s not beyond him on the face of it but it won’t be easy. You’re absolutely right though in that the coaching appointment will be the biggest signing we make. One player can only do so much but a coach can get extra out of every single player.

I think that the good news for us, is that those types of players are a dying breed. I'm looking around the league and there's only really Sam and Roby that are left. There's a lot of teams who would capitulate like we've done if faced with the same challenges.

We're not as far behind as what we think we are imo.

The only positive atm for me is that I do think things can be fixed relatively quickly. We need French and Field back in the side and we need to bolster the forward pack (which we have done). We need a fresh coaching approach (which we should get) and we need a Hastings replacement.

Not convinced much else needs doing - I'd say 80-90% of the issues are coaching related. I just wish we weren't overcomplicated things with the coaching 'partnership' for next year and instead give Wane full control.

Is exactly right for me. Let’s just give Wane the head coaches job ffs. If he needs time off for England camps than whatever. Guys like Peet and Lockers can step up but making it a multi layered set up just means we’ll get the ‘it’s a farce’ calls every time we lose a game.

Miller as a replacement for Hastings has me shaking my head in disappointment. Although not sure what I expected to be honest when we've been downgrading the playing squad like-for-like for about 4 years now.

Do that and I'd have no doubt we'd head in the right direction again quickly. I just hate everything about this year and want to see the back of it. Hate the playing style, the stupid comments from Lam, the postponements, the points percentage, the kit, the lack of entertainment etc etc.

I assumed that he didn't want the head coaches job due to his England commitments. Surely he would be welcomed with open arms if he wanted it.

The England job is dead IMO. He might get a game against France at the end of this season and potentially something similar at the end of next season but what’s the point anymore?! There’s no way that World Cup is happening and if I were him I’d turn the job in. That pains me to say as a guy who would give up all our good players for mid season internationals without any hesitation but I’m done with being optimistic that the game in general gives a hoot about internationals.

Saying Wane has more fight left in him than me and can be bothered to keep pretending that job is viable, than they’ll have to work out if he can be a head man here and do the England job at the same time or not. If it’s not possible and he’ll be a part time consultant here, then we should go elsewhere for me and get an experienced guy who can throw all his energy in to it.
