Yeah I can't get my head round the lack of a transfer fee there either. It makes me think maybe we didn't actually want to be paying his (significant) wage. Agreed regarding Danson too but we don't actually know how big his commitment to the club is or why he has come in. We can't just assume his billions are now at our disposal.

I believe that our offer to Williams was only £10k a year lower than Wires offer which on a significant 6 figure salary seems almost irrelevant therefore, I can only assume that Williams wanted to sign for Wire i.e. money wasn't the issue.
I am not sure why we didn't press for a transfer fee but assume that there would have been a high risk that it was unenforceable.

Just been on the site, I don’t really go on there to a number of direct messages from Dan.

My favourite being is the Kyle Flannigan rumour still funny….never knew he’d signed must have missed that one, and also all the other halves Dan has mentioned since. Sounds like we are going to have a team full of halfbacks.

I do worry where we are going to accommodate them all.

I’ve no doubt if we do sign a half old Dan will proclaim that he told us all so, as basically he is naming every single OOC player on the rugby league world as his next hit from the press link.

What halfbacks that he has quoted are you referring to?

To date I can only recall
- Williams
- Enquiring about Flanagan
- Miller

The question has to be if he knows so much (and he says he does), then how did he not make mention of Mago, Ellis, Miski or Thornley (presuming he’s signed)?

Rumours about players who then don’t sign won’t hold any weight.
