Plus Field, plus Hanley. I'd expect the new halfback to be a kicker. I don't think Hankinson makes a lot of difference either way in terms of kicking as I'm not anticipating him to play most weeks.

We can’t re sign someone because he’s a goal kicker. Hank as determined as he is - simply isn’t good enough for the top level of SL, I question if he’s good enough for SL at all in all honesty. If he clearly was he wouldn’t have gone to London on loan as surely a Salford/Leigh would have snapped up the chance to sign a centre going spare of that supposed quality?

I’ve nothing against Hank and he’s done alright when he’s played but that’s just it, he did alright for a player of his level. Hank should be on the released list at seasons end.

…but he has another year on his contract so we would have to pay him off and that would then still be utilised as part of our cap.

He's already been re-signed. I put it a couple of pages above that he signed a 2 year deal at the start of this season and then went out on loan.

I'd be happy to carry him as a backup centre for next year. One of our (many) problems this season was that we've had 2nd rows in the backs. Having Hank on the books negates that.

Clearly I’ve missed that. I still stand by my belief he’s not good enough but I take the point about specialised centres rather than back rowers. It isn’t an issue him being apart of our squad, for me there’s bigger issues to address so Hank’s retention is in my mind of little relevance at the moment

Hankinson, Thornley and Bibby are all players I’d consider good options as a third centre but there’s a very realistic possibility two will be starting next year.

End of the day and imo opinion the squad as we know for next year is a 5/6 place side and IS NOT good enough to challenge for trophies

To be fair I’d take Bibby. He’s dependable, tough and has proven himself IMO to be a real asset. Out of Thornley and Hank I’m not sure.
