Well one thing is for sure, Wire play more attractive rugby and so did Leigh under Duffy's tenure.

The funny thing is, the Wire fans were far from happy with the rugby under Price/Briers up until this season and they called out Briers for it as times, as he was the attacking coach but granted it’s never been as bad as what our attack has been this season.

It could be a win win this job for somebody. It’s surely impossible for the attack to get any worse, so any improvements, however small, will get attributed to any new coach and any new attack coach.

If Tommy Leuluai retires it wouldn’t surprise me if he got the attacking coach role.
I listened to a podcast recently with Sam Tomkins and he couldn’t have praised TL any higher in terms of his potential as a coach.

Agreed.

I seem to recall he will join our coaching team when he hangs up his boots, it’s in his contract, so I doubt we will see too many external additions to our back room staff unless others leave or we will have more coaches than players.

Somebody is going to take a punt on him. Depends on what he's asking for I suppose. Half backs are in real demand in the NRL, so it says a lot that nobody wants to pick him up over there (same for Corey Norman). Not to say he couldn't do a good job over here

Yes I think he was on big money at Gold Coast so wherever he ends up he will be on a significant pay cut you’d imagine!

You’d think one of Taylor or Norman will go to Catalans as they’re in the market for a half, would be really interesting to see them both play over here, their confidence has looked shot at times but a new challenge might do them well.

Wouldn’t mind a punt on Taylor, certainly a better player than Miller.

Taylor is a confidence player, but I'd prefer him to Norman any day of the week. Self-evidently, Miller isn't so good (wasn't quite good enough to cement a regular NRL spot; which both Taylor and Norman have done). However, I think that is marginal. I think Miller would be effective here; partly because, unlike the other two, he has already earned his corn by being a proven performer at SL level. He has been pretty good and involved whenever I've seen Wakey play.

Interesting comments.
I know that you are a knowledgeable fan of the nrl so really interesting to hear your views.

I'm a bit "cold" on Miller as I always think that he threatens a great deal but rarely seems to deliver. That could be harsh on my part but a HB pairing of Smith & Miller doesn't seem strong enough and on paper a downgrade from Smith & Hastings.
