I didn’t realise Gale was 33, can see why a 12 month contract would be sensible.

Certainly makes the move less appealable.

Hopefully Wigan can pull something out of the hat here because most of the names touted around fail to create much excitement.

We have known Hastings was going for quite some time so you would think some forward planning would have been done.

Hetherington has said today that Gale will 100% be with them in 2022. That’s fine by me, I don’t think he’s a good partner for Smith anyway.

I think the favourite will be the Hardaker and Miller swap. It seems a very loose rumour because the guys never posted before apparently but on the other site a poster has us down as trying to get Sarginson back. That would make sense from the quota point of view because if we want an overseas halfback, we’ll need a homegrown replacement for Hardaker (presuming we went for one, it wouldn’t surprise me if we just save the money).

Plenty would kick up a fuss over Sarginson coming back but I think we’ve missed him tbh. As a centre I don’t think there’s a great deal of difference between him and Hardaker.

Based on where we currently are i would take that.

That seemed to be the rumour being talked about at the Catalan match with Hardaker not wanting to commute and becoming a Dad.

I’d imagine there will be some announcements after the Grand Final.

Who knows what will happen. I’d reluctantly accept something like Hardaker out and Miller and Sarginson in because you at least get two proven superleague performers who want to be here. I’d be loathed to lose Hardaker unless there was a replacement but ultimately he’s a pretty good centre but not a great one and he’s not going to play fullback here.
