Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.

Most idiotic post ever goes to Grimmy..... The way to restart should be an arm wrestle between a designated player from each side.
That would make me think one agreement is water tight and a fee ‘must’ be paid to release him (if we ask for one), whereas the other really wasn’t. I’m not sure how you get a legally binding agreement that asks a team to pay a fee for a player that doesn’t belong to you anymore and hasn’t done so for 18 months.
Is this not a similar situation to Harris with Bradford and Leeds ending up in court and Bulls finally paying compensation? Obviously not privvy to the small print and a genuine question?
The lad who wants more money is deserving of more goodwill from the club than than the lad with a new baby, struggling with his commute.
I'd have more sympathy for the lad struggling with his commute if he hadn't moved 2 hours away from work and was now struggling with his 2 hour commute.

Possibly yes. I think that may have been complicated by the fact he went to a totally different sport and had signed an agreement to come back once back in League, rather than staying in the same sport and having some sort of first refusal but like you, I’m not sure.
I just can’t see we’re that ‘decent’ we’ve let Williams go to Wire for nowt, if we could realistically have got some compensation.

Come on, you know that's a simplistic POV to say the least.

It completely ignores the reason why he's moved.
It's not simplistic at all, lots of people have to work well away from their home - he/his family made the decision to move away and given he couldn't get a new club, he/his family have to live with that decision.
But Wigan only had 1st option on his re-signing from Canberra. That doesn’t sound very legally binding to me. Wigan ask does he want to come back, GW says no, Wigan say “ok sound” and be signs elsewhere.
Really got to let go of this GW obsession. He wasn’t our player to sign to begin with.
As for ZH you’ll find no complaints from me with how we’ve handled it. I have my sympathies but he’s under contract here and if he wants out he pays up, or someone else does, to be able to move.

Bang on. He has a year left in Wigan. If he decides to move home thats his choice. If his missus is unhappy then she should move back there and wait a year. Zak is a professional (sometimes) sportsman in a contract. You can't just walk away from them in sport. He should have bought his new house and joined his family in a years time, not like he can't afford it. I have a sneaky suspicion that it was Wakey that wanted him and when we were told Miller would come with a fee attached we played the same game.
