Some fans are/were clamoring for Wigan to sign Jordan Abdull. Harry Smith is a far better halfback than Abdull was at the same age. Smith needs to be given time to develop. Give him a decent front row and a settled spine and I think he'll be ok.

Spot on and you can only imagine how Wane would have kicked off watching Smith back out of the catch and drop the ball under pressure like he has a few times this year.

Wigan have confirmed Winder is moving on (to another company owned by Lenagan by the sounds of things).

Looks like the coaching team announcement is close.

He’ll land a guess soon. That one was 50/50 and it still didn’t come off. He says we’ve been in talks with a superleague player, so if we sign any one of the 250+ players on other clubs books, then he’s clear an inside man.

One thing is for sure in that I think we have internally noted the issue in the halves and are attempting to resolve with the Briers appointment.

Not sure we can say he's been particularly effective at Warrington.

What's your thoughts on Briers as a coach? I know he wasn't the main guy at Wire, but whilst he was there they've had loads of good 'on paper' HB's that haven't worked out.

From the outside looking in, he seems the weakest of all our coaching appointments. I'd have definitely looked at Richard Marshall as an option before Briers.

I'll be happy to be proved wrong tho.
