It should be over to Hardaker for me now. The club has made its stance known, he’s under contract and he’s been treated really well by this club over his time here. We did give him that redemption and he has rebuilt a career that let’s be frank here, was non existent before we came along. Do I think he owes us anything? Maybe but, and it’s my opinion, he owes his family more who it’s easy to forget also we’re affected by his actions and upped sticks to salvage his career. Perhaps it’s time he gave back in that respect.

Players in sport move on its natural wastage so in that mould I have no issue if he wishes to move back to Ponte and I genuinely wish him all the best. As I’ve said in a previous post I think he’s been a wonderful player for us throughout his time with us and has shown some real leadership credentials. However for the good of the club, he must stay for 2022 unless we can identify a suitably talented centre to replace him. Calling it a disaster is probably a step too far, but losing him without properly replacing him and running with Thornley/Hank as our centres would be a huge blow and a massive step down.

Kind of hope we just let Hardaker go. The fact the club has spent the last few years kowtowing to the likes of Hardaker and Hastings' whims is honestly quite pathetic. No wonder Wane left the first time.

In the Wigan tv interview following his appointment as Head Coach, Matty Peet said if a player doesn't want to play here then let him go and we'll replace him.
Surely this is the current situation with Hardaker?
With him still having a year on his contract the club have to decide whether to hold out for a fee or allow him to leave without a one. Should Zac leave then his salary will be available to find a replacement.
If reports and rumours are correct and Zac has informed the club he wants to leave then their first job will be to find a replacement before they allow him to leave.

Yes thought same thing, this is either in response to Zak or and others going forward. Or maybe putting a club stance on things for the fans before he leaves. Or something badly timed in a first interview. Whichever I can't see a way forward apart from a fully committed interview from Zak or him leaving. At this point the latter looks favourite surley that would leave us in a position to strengthen with 2 more players issue looking at the squad they will need to be home grown players.

On other forums there's alot of momentum building around the rumour we've signed Danny Richardson. Apparently the source stated Williams had signed for wire well in advance of it being public knowledge. Time will tell. Very underwhelming if true. Defensively weak but at least kicking goals shouldn't be a problem

Rumour off face book page and I always take that with a large trailer of salt. The George Williams bit is also a bit weak as in he was told by same guy that he was going to Wire few weeks back. Still may happen did Briers and Peet coach him at accedmy level? Also sure he played with Smith for England Knights and they are cousins so you could put links to it.

As the Yorkshire clubs are not willing to pay a tranfer fee for Hardacre, it would appear that Wigan are taking the alternative option of a exchange deal.

The only problem with that is getting the right player in exchange and to the same level or above as Hardacre!

I wouldn’t take Richardson even if Cas offered to give him to us and pay a percentage of his salary, so they better go back to the drawing board if that’s the swap.

If it’s Cas, it would be Trueman or nobody for me. We and they know how good Hardaker can be in the right environment.
