Richardson seems to pass into touch or to the floor more than to a team mate. Can’t take a defensive line on, can’t tackle, can’t organise…apart from that he isn’t that bad

He’s Harry Smiths cousin I believe and we can’t carry two lads who struggle with the same parts of their games. I have hope we can help Smith fix up his weaknesses but taking two lads on with similar issues is a step too far.

I can’t see it anyway. It’s just so none Wigan signing a half like Richardson, even if we are in panic mode. If there’s no halfbacks available, I’d go and look for another big front rower. Let’s get the pack as strong as possible and give Field, Smith and Leuluai the best chance of success.

If it’s Cas, it would be Trueman or nobody for me. We and they know how good Hardaker can be in the right environment.

Whilst Richardson would solve one big problem i.e. goalkicking he would create more in that he is poor defensively and not a particularly good running threat. His all-round kicking game is o.k. but for me the negatives outweigh the positives.

There can't be any substance to this surely. He is the most non-Wigan and non-Wane player in Super League. He is an absolute tart, scared of contact, can't tackle and has no toughness about him whatsoever. He wouldn't last one wresting session at Wigan. Not a chance are you that desperate you'd go for him.

Surely this is the current situation with Hardaker?
With him still having a year on his contract the club have to decide whether to hold out for a fee or allow him to leave without a one. Should Zac leave then his salary will be available to find a replacement.
If reports and rumours are correct and Zac has informed the club he wants to leave then their first job will be to find a replacement before they allow him to leave.

Problem with letting him go on a free is that a transfer fee is most likely required for his replacement?

You have to question the clubs recruitment and balancing of the squad.

Given we have Smith, Tommy has extended his stay and Field was signed as a 1/6, we shouldn't technically need to go to the market. That's not forgetting that French also got the 6 shirt for a brief period.

I haven't heard anything at all apart from "social media" rumours which are usually as reliable as my two daughters time keeping.

I didn’t think we were desperate at all to be honest. We could do with another half as back up but it’s by no means an absolute necessity unless Field isn’t coming back. But even then I wouldn’t touch Richardson, I think I’d sooner Tommy play in the halves all season
