Mitch Clarke has to go down as one of the worst bits of business we have done in recent years.

Not only did he not play…but we have now paid him a wage to not play for us and taken a hit on the salary cap. Awful management.

It doesn’t matter where he started his career. To class as federation trained he must have played 3 seasons for a federation club whilst eligible for the under 21’s. Tommy joined London at 19 and played 2 seasons. He joined Wigan at 21 and turned 22 in that season but would have been eligible for the U21’s so I think he classes as federation trained.

According to several articles (not saying they are right but they go down a number of different seasons and organisations) they state TL counts as non federation trained.

Not wishing to be pedantic but it is Matty Nicholson. I think he will be added to the first team squad soon.

Although Tommy may be non fed trained it won't matter if we signed a top class half from the NRL as TL would retire with immediate effect.
That clears the problems.

Just about the only half back with any first grade experience that is available would seem to be Corey Norman. I don't think he is the answer though

He's an improvement on what we have though, but probably not a long term option.

I get the whole long term planning thing, but at some point it has to be about the season we are in. If we go into this season weak in the halves then it's potentially 4 years without a trophy, which is completely unacceptable for Wigan.
