If Finch does leave that's our 6&7 gone for next year.

I'd have zero hesitation of moving Sam back to 6 for next season and watching how Matty Russell goes on at FB in either his Leigh games or the rare first team opportunities he gets. If he's good enough get him in.

Dureau now has to be a priority imo.

1-Russell
2-Charnley
3-Goulding
4-Gelling
5-Richards
6-Sam
7- Dureau

Richards aside that's a young backline. It also has a lot of pace.

I'd be a very happy Wigan fan with that next year.

Steffan Marsh must come in to contention for a place in our backline next year if he keeps that form up. He ripped Jack Hughes a new one today who looked for all money a heavy footed second row playing at centre today.

On one games showing?

One game against someone I've stayed level headed about and don't agree with certain high praise of late.

Neither are Wigan quality. Neither are long term answers.

Hughes has and will hopefully continue to do a 'safe' job on most occasions filling in. Nothing more for me.

Hughes will be Wigan quality in his natural position.

Marsh showed what he's capable of today but must now kick on if he does want to come in to contention. If he finds a consistent level of performance like that he'll go pretty close to a starting shirt next year.

Marsh has never played like that before in his life and I'd be surprised if he ever did again, he was trying to prove a point today that is all.

It's all opinions but in mine Hughes won't get near a backrower position at Wigan.
Not whilst Hock, H, Faz & Tus are around.

Finch didnt announce his return directly, erin molan said it.

I cant see him staying with the massive $$$ on offer in the NRL now.

Not a chance, I would be surprised if we see Marsh in a Wigan shirt again. He did well playing against a second row but still had all his old faults and has looked poor in other Widnes games.

On Hughes I have said all along that he is a decent stand in at centre and no more. I said a few weeks ago that he has been aided an awful lot when playing centre by playing either in dominant Wigan displays where he wasnt tested or playing against the likes of Hauraki and Platt who arent even centres themselves. He certainly shouldnt be hung out to dry for silling in out of position.

What worries me is that should Goulding go off as he did today and at Cas, Gaz Hock has gone to right centre. That's two back rowers playing centre.
I do think we may have to look out side the club to bring in a first team centre for next year when Carmont has retired.
