If ISA is still up to it then he is a sound player. Keeping him for one season seems sensible and two does not seem a problem if we have the quota spots. I can imagine that there will be a fair bit of change season after next hopefully with younger players staking a claim. I would not put it past him to end up in a fledgling league in The USA if his partner is still playing over there.

I don't really see what he's giving us on the pitch that Smithies isn't to be honest. At least with Smithies there is a chance he can improve. I wouldn't put him in the same bracket as Clubb, but at the same time we do seem to be too much of a soft touch with players towards the end of their careers. I'd sooner let them go a year too early than a year too late.

2 year deal to someone who takes up a quota spot, is 33 in January and could be seen as “progress stopper” to KPP and Smithies.

Not sure on this one as much as Isa has grown on me in 2020 and 2021.

Think he’s being kept for his impact on dressing room and training etc which is an important which we don’t see.

It's only our full overseas quota that makes me unsure about another 2 years for Isa. I thought he should probably be the one to make way if were further signings in the pipeline. Now Cust has signed we still don't know how the quota will be balanced - some whispers that Tommy is now exempt (not sure why) otherwise it can only be Field or French leaving.

2 years for Isa also gives us less flexibility for 2023.

The other site has a rumour that Field is being offered around to other SL clubs

I would be surprised at that considering that Matty Peet recently commented on how Field was fit and raring to go for preseason.

Supposedly by somebody 'in the know' but personally I would rather we kept Field to see what he can do but a quota spot has to be freed up somewhere unless there is some exemption for Tommy

If it's the 'someone in the now' im thinking of i wouldn't take any notice of it. He is a perennial fence sitting bet edger. His 'scoops' are a wild stab in the dark. A bit like nostradamus, predicting a war but not saying which century it will be in. You'd be better betting on whether i am going to have tea tomorrow, i will give you 1/2 on and 7/4 against.

Confirmed this morning by Rugby League Live that Tommy Leuluai is exempt on the quota and we do not need to make room for Cust to come in.

Makes things easier for this season.

Well it’s a positive on paper but to be honest it isn’t something I feel comfortable with.
