His family lives in Australia so, no I don't think it's that.
Nothing wrong with the quality of the squad he inherited he just drove down standards and made each and every player worse. Not to mention his insistence on square pegs in round holes.
How does one person get so many things wrong on as consistent a basis as you seem to do?
And how many supporters like yourselve cannot faced the reality that you cannot make a silk purse out of a sows ear?
I hear that a new Marketing Director has been appointed and she starts in a few weeks
Hopefully she will drag us into the 21st century and start to target the under 25’s
Sounds promising, it's been very poor over the last couple of years, for various reasons.

I believe since Peet’s appointment things are changing rapidly not just playing staff and coaches.
From tomorrow there will be lots more community activities involving the players going forward which I believe is being driven by Peet. A meet and greet with the players at Bryn Labour club tomorrow afternoon with weekly such as this activities being planned throughout the year.
It’s early days but as a “doubting Thomas” (the under 60’sgoogle it) things are starting to change within the club.
The club has got to embrace the fans after a few difficult and pretty pointless seasons and get back to basics. I’m not expecting miracles with what is still a squad of too few proven experienced pros but initial soundings form Peet (not Wane) is positive
I'm hearing similar things. I picked my grandchildren up from school earlier in the week and was talking to a recently retired Superleague player and he was saying lots of encouraging things about Wigan also was fulsome in his praise for some of the young academy kids coming through.
How do you know he did these things? I think he had to deal with a lot of interreference from upon high during an effed up period that saw mass injuries and the covid pandemic, If he was truly 5h1te as many on here would suggest then explain LLS and coach of the season? At worst he is an average coach, but nowhere near as bad as Hughes and Millward where for us
Or Starkey, Toohey, Coan, Karalius, Coslett, Bamford, Murphy, Raper!
None of whom like you say did not have the problems that Lam had to endure!
It’s about time we stopped the Lam bashing. He’s in the past now and we should be looking to the future.
He may be a poor coach, he may not. What’s clear is he wasn’t a good fit at Wigan. We’ve seen it plenty of times before, a coach can look one of the best at one club and it for a multitude of reasons doesn’t work at another. Millward being a prime example.

It’s a bit short notice the Bryn do this afternoon otherwise I’d have gone but I’m still going to try get there for 30 minutes just to have a chat with young Smith and Nicholson who will be there. Jake Bibby, Harry Smith, Ramon Silva, Matty Nicholson and Ben O’Keefe will be there today.
The squad have been split into groups of 5 and will be visiting community groups eg schools, care homes etc on a weekly basis. I think it’s a great idea. Gets the young guys some experience out of the “workplace” and gives kids at school a chance to talk to hopefully their sporting heroes. A great move by Peet as this can only help the club get back into the community

I forgot to add I don’t know the new Marketing Director’s name but I believe that she comes from a sporting or similar background so hopefully she will hit the ground running. Our marketing has been pretty much non existent in the last few years and there should be some easy wins she can deliver to kick start the new season.
Great news if true. Things have let slide a bit over the past few years with regards to close links between the club and the supporters, of course two covid disruptive seasons hasn't helped.
Good to see players getting back into the community, thats a start.
Remember we had only just moved into the Robin Park arena a few months before Covid hit causing months long lockdowns. For a few home games back in 2020 hundreds of supporters spend pre-match at the newly established bar area with plans to expand outside during the warmer summer months which obviously didn't happen (a shame cause thinking back we had glorious weather from April to July in 2020).
As we celebrate 150 years I really do hope we can get back into that bar pre game, invite over some legends from days gone by to speak to supporters (I've mentioned this before - Henderson Gill, Billy B, Steve Hampson, Gary Connolly... Etc) get it filmed on Wigan TV to create exciting new content. Then let's hope we get nice warm weather during spring and summer so the club can expand pre-match outdoors onto the running track with additional bar area, streetfood stalls, merchandise sellers, live music and invite away fans to mix with home support (something similar to what Toronto put on). It's a massive money spinner in an area we currently miss out on if supporters simply spend every ££ in the DW.

I really hope so. The supporters bar had some things to work on, as any new venture would but I thought the start was really positive. I noticed some pictures yesterday of a new community garden being worked on in that space between the south stand end of the Robin Park field and the South Stand itself and it would be nice to think they can keep improving the place and make it a really nice space for people to visit in those summer months and have a couple of pints.
