We actually came within a lucky bounce of taking the Grand Final to golden point extra time - not being crown champions - a huge difference.

You could just as easily make the point with the two Hardaker kicks. Those kicks really reflected the outcome - very, very close but not quite there. And it is a little strange to think that despite the fact Adrian Lam may be remembered by many as one of our worst coaches, we were half a length of a crossbar away from winning a title under him. 2021 has brought some solace for that defeat IMO when you consider that had we won then Lam would likely have been offered a 2-3 year deal. No-one would have been able to withstand another year like the one we've just had.

Jai Field nowhere to be seen in the pre season training photos despite Peet saying he was fit and raring to go. The internationals and Mago/Cust/French understandably to join later on but no reason Field shouldn't be there. Not sure if anyone saw the John Davidson piece recently suggesting Wigan were trying to offload him.

Epalahame Lauaki confirmed 2 year deal with option of a third in our favour.

A ‘strike’ prop is exactly what we needed and it’s also been confirmed that he is being sponsored by Pirtek.

Great bit of business by the club.

In the end due to work commitments I couldn’t make it unfortunately.
Good to see the marketing director there.

I’ve been told such gatherings will occur on a regular basis and I will attend some going forward particularly if they are held on a Friday which is normally a free day for me.
I hope a lot more publicity is generated before the next community gatherings are held.
