If this is true then we need to review what legal action we can take because as KPP told me personally he is contracted until 2023.
At worst we should "out" his agent and hold KPP to his contract and stick him in the reserves for the 2023 season.

I have absolutely no problem with someone looking to improve their income and look for new challenges but if an agent starts abusing contracts then it should be gloves off and no "gentlemen's" agreements.

It’s really frustrating young players leaving before they’ve got close to achieving anything for the club but in this case we can’t be too aggrieved as we only did the same thing to London.

Who have they reasonably got though?

Welsby - 1st proper season as a starter, but signed a new deal last year at 20. If he continues to progress, he could very well leave at 23.

Knowles - They've done well to lock him down. Hopefully we can do similar with Smithies.

Dodds - same boat as Harry Smith and signed a 4 year deal before being a regular starter. Like Welsby, if he continues to progress then he'll be a target.

The others like Walmsley, Percival, Makinson and Lomax are probably too old (Percival aside).

It will come for Saints. They've just locked their lads into longish deals at an early age.

Is this for '23 or '24 ?
If he's under contract for next season might as well let him go and get a fee for him, it's not as if he's a mainstay of the team, bags of potential yes but we seem to churn out back-rowers like there's no tomorrow through the academy

They might be too old now, but how have they kept them for so long?

Player has 5 good games for Wigan and he's off. Rushton never even played!

I’ve not been able to go to the last couple of fans forums but I’ve watched them back and people have asked about us losing players and I can accept the answers given but I always hope somebody will ask your first question but nobody has. I’d love to know Lenagan and Rads thoughts as to how they can do it under the same salary cap.
