Been looking at comments on social media from Warrington fans with regards to the Cooper signing just to see the consensus (on the whole they don’t seem happy) and I have come across a few of their fans saying we have also agreed to sign Ratchford for next season. If so I would imagine that means goodbye to French? I know he can cover stand off and centre but full back is his favoured position and I can’t see us going into a season with 3.

I think their disappointment is 2 fold with Cooper
1 - losing a player they are happy with, and dont feel he is part of their problem performance wise this year
2 - he's coming to Wigan

From a club perspective its a good / challenging position to be in

i dont watch academy / reserves but from what i've heard on the forums / chatting with friends we have a promising batch of forwards coming through behind too including some prop forwards. We have a habit of producing high quality back row forwards, but been a bit scarce with the props over recent years, so to have some good props coming through will be a bonus if they all kick on

You've definitely made 2 mistakes here especially in relation to the assumption we'll sign Ratchford

FWIW - I wouldn't be worried about saying goodbye to French if your basing that on Social Media rumours from a few people saying we've signed Ratchford

We "May" very well lose French, but IMO there'll be dozens of reasons for it happening far more relevant

If we manage to tie bevan down on a similar deal to field that would be unreal. a guarenteed 2 more years of both (or at worst a handy transfer fee if NRL clubs want one earlier) would surely get people excited after what we have seen so far this year.

This season has been the most entertained i have been at the rugby for a long time, and it is even sweeter with how much of a slog it was under lam at times. These two are a big part of that and are a joy to watch when they are both firing and link up. Was elated when field re-signed and have my fingers crossed for french too. Get it over the line lenners!

Surprised the amount that seem happy to tear the club down and start again under Powell, don’t think the lads he has signed so far have done great and if I’m honest it didn’t look like a club that needed tearing down and rebuilding until he came in!! (Aside from too much onus on bringing stars in rather than make their own)
The vast majority seem to still have him as one of there top performers which is good to read as a fan you always try and pick the negatives in a player when they’re leaving and positives when they sign.

It's typical Wire to be honest. They are backing "superstar" recruits and a manager with no affinity to the club. Look at the success of almost every team of the last 30+ years - they are all built on a culture set by home grown players. Wire should have been looking to their own and not shipping Cooper out of the door.

I’m not saying I believe it to be true or not I’m just passing on what I have read as this is a rumour page. I also wouldn’t be too dismissive of social media, is this not a form of social media? I find it to be a pretty good source of info/rumours and I’m pretty sure plenty of rumours start on Twitter/Facebook and turn out to be true. The Hardaker leaving one gathered more traction on Twitter/Facebook before it did on here.

Also I’m not too worried about French leaving as I think it could potentially improve us as a team (although will be hard to watch him at another SL side). Whatever decision the club go with I will support and we can see further down the line if that was the right or wrong decision. Or maybe French will take the decision out of our hands which he can do.

There's some quite alarming 'blind faith' posts from Wire fans regarding Powell. Quite how they can watch the toss he's served up for most of this season and still be of the opinion that he has everything under control is beyond me. That said, I love to see it.

Can't help feeling that he embodies the small-town mentality in certain parts of Yorkshire.

Cas has got to be the chippiest place we ever visit (okay, I think Leigh can run them close, but Leigh's resentment comes almost exclusively from being Wigan's poor relation). They've punched above their weight for years in playing terms, but they're basically a little club, and they can't stand it. Powell's whole attitude seems to represent that.

Can't see how he's a fit for a club like Warrington at all.
