I’d see it as a Bateman/Sarginson style signing. Promising young player who joins one of the very top SL clubs (no disrespect to Hudds who are moving in the right direction).

Cudjoe will be 34/35 now and I believe Leutele is looking for a move back to the NRL.

Would be a short sighted move from Hudds to let him go unless he isn’t happy.

I really like Bibby but if it’s a case of we lose Bibby and get Wardle then I would be very pleased with that.

Very Gleasonesq type centre and would go well at Wigan.

To be honest, I'm not sure.

He's definitely got some skills in regards to broken field running, but he's not a proper centre like Gleeson was. You only need to look at his stats to see he's not much of a creator. There's a decent highlights package of him on YT and there's not a pass to be seen (not that we should just judge him off a 3min video).

Personally, I'd be happy with him, but would prefer someone like Gleeson or Carmont i.e someone who can create for others with some traditional ball work. Out blackline is great, but it's all excitement and broken field running. Put Gleeson inside French or Marshall and they'd get 30+ a season.

Wardle would seem the best potentially available British centre (wouldn’t go near Gildart personally) so I’d be happy but I do think from what I have seen Leutele is the best of their centres and it doesn’t surprise me that he’s going back to the NRL, he’s caused us loads of trouble in the games we have played them this season.

Wardle has been named in England’s 20 man squad for the weekend.

He isn’t getting picked at Huddersfield but Wane likes him clearly.

Wouldn't we all, but those types of centres are in very short supply (especially in SL) I am struggling to really think of any centres anywhere near those players in their ability to put a winger away. The game seems to favour more rugged line breakers these days sadly.

Wardle looks a decent player from what I have seen.

I think Wardle looks very similar to Gleason in the way he plays.

He’s definitely a wingers centre.

I hope so - would be a good fit for the players we have at present, from what I have seen he looks a bit raw yet. Assuming of course he is being signed which is merely just rumour at present. Which must be why this is on the rumours thread after all!

Raised this with someone who is close to Hudds.

He said he hadn’t heard anything however he wouldn’t be surprised to see Wardle of the move as he does not have a particularly good relationship with Watson.

Umyla Hanley scored a cracking try for Newcastle at the weekend.

Wonder if he has a future at the club? Seems quite for down the pecking order.
