Hard to say - just completely unproven at SL level. Showed he was solid under the high ball when he played on the wing a bit last year. Scored a lot of tries at Newcastle but not convinced there is enough to justify the constant clamour for him to get more game time at Wigan. Will be good to see him get a run of SL games elsewhere though.

You seem to be labelling Oz as a foreign country as a bad thing which is fair enough and everyone is different but for Gildart that might be a massive plus living in Sydney rather than Wigan. I have no issue with him
choosing to go to the NRL especially as it’s the pinnacle of rugby league.

If there is nothing agreed after the loan this could be ideal for us, see what he’s like at Super league level but I wouldn’t be surprised if it is with a view of a permanent deal, Peet has had plenty of opportunities to blood him in, the last few weeks looked prime personally but to me it seems like there is clearly something Peet doesn’t like.

I don’t think Peet does have many issues with him, I think he is actually being respectful to his senior player in Isa by giving him a run over Halsall, that’s all.

Isa isn’t letting anyone down and is a leader off the field so I think for Halsall to jump ahead of him he would need to do something pretty special.

I don’t think it will be the same next year. I believe he will be first choice back up centre, a loan move to Hull is great for him and us.

Gives him that level of SL exposure without him being thrown into the furnace of performing in front of the expectant Wigan supporters.

I believe that Leeds are looking to get Oliver Partington over the line this week too, hence Jack Walker leaving to Hull FC on loan

You’re making some presumptions on what I’m saying here. I wasn’t saying he can’t celebrate and I’m not saying him being in a foreign country is a negative. The lad though clearly didn’t go to play reserve grade, so him now playing reserve grade rugby on the other side of the world can’t be ideal and part of his plan. The lad might be having the time of his life and fair play to him if the lure of the lifestyle was his main priority and rugby just a way of facilitating that but he doesn’t seem the type. To me that makes his situation a bit of a case study for other players weighing up the merits of making the move.

On one of the RL fb pages it's quoting a Hull local paper saying they're after another loan signing alongside Walker but it isn't Halsall

Are we freeing up space for a mid season move? Halsall, Partington & potentially Zak's salary would be free. Although I'm unsure if we had to pay anything to Zak?

Or is Peet thinking that we're now past the point in the season where we need such a big squad? Cust will be back soonish, as will Thornley & Smithies has served his time too. We've got options right across the squad now and good players will be missing out. Maybe a case of letting lads leave to get game time?

If it's option 1, then the obvious hole in the squad is at centre. We've lost Zak, Thornley is injury prone & I don't think Isa is good enough to play there long term. We've got bodies, but probably a lack of real quality. Or are we making a play for Cooper?
