Hasn’t Thompson has some pretty bad concussion issues? Could easily end up being a George Burgess for whoever signs him.

I do know that both Dodd and Welsby were on "grown up" contracts before they even broke into the team, so whilst they may have jumped I don't think it would have been "add another 0" style. Interestingly, Dodd's contract has an unusual 2 year option for 2025/26 in the clubs favour. I suspect that step will be from very good money I am sure hes on now, to superstar money.

All we know definitively is that Grace was offered a contract for next year and he turned it down - so we have at least as much as we offered Grace to play with. Its possible (though unlikely) that this offer was a token 10k, or that this offer fully matched his supposed expectations (130k). There are a sleuth of other questions, like LMS and Roby, which will impact our recruitment for next year. Its an odd year for Saints fans, we don't seem to be linked to anyone!

Not a rumour as such but refreshing to read an article in the Mirror this morning with Cade Cust. He says he’s loving life here, can’t imagine playing anywhere else and is looking to extend his deal. Makes a very pleasant change from players throwing the old line out ‘never way never’ or ‘I do have ambitions to play in the NRL/move back to the NRL’.

Kudos to Wigan for finding both Cust & Field a Manchester home, was crucial in securing both players.

Is Cust in Manchester? I thought I read him saying he lived in Billinge and loved the quiet, out of city nature of it. I know Ellis is Manchester based.

Wherever they live, we’ve done very well with our overseas recruitment recently.

Saints don’t currently have any Marquees (though Dodd may be in 2025), so not a worry about at the moment.

Surely you will have ?

Say Makinson and Roby. They’ll both be on at least £100k each. Would it not make sense to class them as your marquees so they both only count as 75k on the cap?
