I wish I could’ve got a market for this at a bookies. My mate at Wigan told me weeks ago and literally no one else had mentioned him in the media or fans. I put it on the Saints forum and no one took me seriously.
By all accounts he was interviewed twice and was seriously impressive. I like the fact he’s external. Will bring fresh ideas. No matter how many trophies you win, external people can improve you. Look at what Briers has done with Wigan.
The big negative in Wellens appointment is that anything other than a Grand Final win will be seen as a failure. Big pressure on his shoulders.
