I too would have Brough in a shot, but it's another of those I'll only believe when I see it jobs.

His age wouldn't worry me unduly. If our starlets aren't ready for first team duty for another year or so, then I see no problem having two 30-year-olds in the 6 and 7 shirts.

There's no point in us bemoaning the loss of Tommy. He's going, and that's it.

He has the best tactical kicking game of any player in SL and probably top 5 globally.

He has fantastic pace and can pass like very few others. He can kick goals and his defence is good enough for a half.

Yeah hes a journeyman and there have perhaps been questions about his influence within clubs he has been with. Regardless of that he has consistently been his on field performances.

As Nicky K has said he ticks a lot of boxes and as Cruncher has said his age is not yet a stumbling block.

I would have him in a heart beat.

Saying that though even though it is all pure speculation, i would have Dureau in half a heart beat. For my money he is the single best 7 in the comp. The guy just oozes class and has the XX factor as opposed to Brough's X factor.

Ultimately both would improve us a great deal currently. In a post TL and poss Finch world they are almost an essential

I just hope the club realise how important it is to sign a top quality halfback. The fans certainly do because like it or lump it we don't have a youngster ready made to step in to a player of Tommy Leuluai's quality. We have some cracking young kids but you can't just ask Mellor or Powell to jump right in from the start of 2013 unless they get plenty of opportunities this season.

Say we lose Carmont, Roberts and Fielden added to Tommy the first 3 could possibly be replaced from within. Whilst that would be dissapointing considering the wages those guys must be on we'd still be there or thereabouts 'if' we signed a top class halfback.

Brough or Dureau fit the bill perfectly. I'd still settle for somebody like Matty Smith but then i'd certainly be expecting another marquee signing or two to go alongside him.

Brough would be no bad thing, but imo we should be pulling out all the stops to nick Dureau. He'd be huge for us.

Danny Brough or Scott Dureau? Spoilt for choice!

I'd take either in a heartbeat. Either player would be excellent recruitment.

Personally I'd be edging more towards Brough. He has the better kicking game, he's faster and he's British. We know full well Aussies/Kiwis jump at the chance to go back to the NRL. Scott Dureau does have class about him, but so does Finch. Scott Dureau organises Les Cats like Finch does Wigan. I feel that Danny Brough would be more of a compliment to Finch than Scott Dureau. They're both very similar players (Dureau & Finch). Too many chefs spoil the broth etc. We just need a halfback with an oustanding kicking game and genuine pace more so than an organiser. Danny Brough meets them requirements more than Dureau.

I highly doubt we'll get either unfortunately. I cant understand why on earth Hudds would let Brough go?
