I’ve never been one to have an issue with players returning and have always said with Gildart that I’d be happy to have him back on two conditions. 1-the money is right for Wigan and 2-he has a good medical. There is currently no room here anyway but it looks like he’ll go to the Dolphins according to the Aussie press and I hope it works out for him. I’m happy with King, I think we’ll get a good season out of him tbh (although longer term I would worry as he seems to have motivation issues IMO) but who knows, maybe timing will work out on a Gildart return in the future.

Not for me. He will be 27 at next seasons end, has had more injuries than Darren Anderton and has already lost a yard of pace. He will naturally start slowing down anyway and as his game is purely based on pace i would want to be going for a different centre. Fair play to him for making his money though, can't knock him for it, it's the reason we work but as a player i would be looking for something different. If King is one of the worst defensive players in the modern game i would love to know why Gildart is so much better because i can't remember him being particularly very good in the tackle himself and i could probably charge a good few metres with him on my back as he doesn't have much strength either.

It's ok to not rate a player that's not playing well, or isn't "good enough", but not liking them because they dared to leave us is laughable. You've kinda proven my with last point. This fictitious trouble maker tag that gets thrown at people who leave. I don't like Williams because he's too run orientated and his short kicking game used to drive me crazy. He's not a trouble maker tho is he. We wouldn't have offered him a record deal if he was.

Edit - nor would Wane have just named him captain on Saturday. The troublemaker tag just doesn't stack up.

Some players are good enough for it to be worth putting up with the issues they cause behind the scenes. Others aren't.

highly unlikely

he had a poor last season at Wigan (injuries) and 12 months in Oz where he's not played many games. that doesnt tell me he would be on mega bucks or marquee

yes, he could command a good wage as an international centre, but nowhere near marquee signing for me

Gildart was never good enough for Wigan. His dad wasn't too bad though.
