Wouldn't get too excited about any rumour that begins on RLFans, Wane and Lenagan's policy is to throw the young lads in like Mellor and Powell, no way will they sign a half back that is over the age of 25 when they have them 2 looking to get into the first team.

Surely this is why he may sign a 30 year old half back, to give these two time to develop......

If as expected, Nathan Brown has signed for saints from 2013 then Brough might want to leave? There is the possibility that neither Brough nor Deurea want to leave their clubs so unless anybody knows anything factual this is all pie in the sky anyway!
For the sake of discussion, I'd rather go for Deurea if we had a choice.

Ian Lenegan is a big fan of Brough, and has tried to sign him before (his words)

I was talking to him after the infamous drubbing against Saints in Cardiff a few years ago.

Steve Matai OOC at Manly end of this year, worth a 2 year deal? Also Matt Cooper, Uate, Brett Tate, Jamie Lyon all OOC from what i can see. One of those << please IL!

I would love Steve Matai at Wigan (along with any of the others) but i am simply not sure if any are realistic. Do not think Lyon would come to Wigan on principle, Tate and Cooper happy where they are and probably have careers in front of them with their respective clubs.

Matai is the most realistic with Manley needing to shed a player or 2 to retain Chery Evans, but he would cost a fortune, and not sure we would be willing to shell out so big. Real quality centre hard as nails as well. Sometimes too brave for his own preservation though.

I keep thinking Matai would be a great signing but there's a nagging doubt about his injury record. He seems to be either missing games or going down injured in games every 2 minutes.

I think the less intense nature of SL would ensure he was on the field more than he is currently in the NRL.

This league might not be quite as intense week in week out but it's still very demanding. The problem I'd have with Matai is I'd want a player commanding that sort of money to be as low an injury risk as possible and he's as high as you get pretty much.

He's a great player who totally committed, aggressive and a real competitor but for the money is simply too high risk.
