If he wants to carry on the contract offer needs to reflect that, but we do have a responsibility to look after him too, not only for him but also because of the message it sends to potential recruits in the future.

He may be good to watch, but so is Mago but they tend not to work in our system.

I don’t see Satae as another Mago style player. Yes, he’s big and can dent the line but he’s got a better engine and rolls forward consistently. I could be wrong but it feels like he’s a better defender and has less errors in him as well. What I will say is that he’s been off his best for a little while and it is the best version of him that you’d want. That version was head and shoulders above Mago IMO.

Be intresting to see how both Satae and Mago get on tonight, Satae on his day is one of the best props in SL, a bit inconsistent and can be a bit lazy, should be doing 14 plus hit up a game, but often a lot less. Like a few others, think he would step up at Wigan.

Think he will stay at Hull or move to France though, only a hunch though.

Looking at his stats this year, he does seem to be having a bit of a Mago style season in terms of workrate and that’s a worry for anyone looking to sign him (or you guys keeping him) but I think people will look at the Satae of a couple of years ago and hope a move will wake him up. He’s been exceptional when he’s at his best. I can’t see him coming here either tbh.

Satae was quality in his first season but he’s fallen off a little and he has seemed very much Mago mkII at times I have seen him, I’d certainly take him over Mago but not sure id get into a bidding war for him. Does say a lot that the Hull fans seem really keen to keep him and they see him week in week out though.

With regards to Satae, I think most Hull fans would like to keep him, but not at the cost of a bidding war. Teams have worked him out this year - the number of marker tackles he is making is huge, as teams are making him double up in defence. That has massively affected his go forward.

I think Hull will get Trout - best mates with McIntosh who is here - and we could even do a swap with Savelio immediately.

Hull were keen on Wallace from Bradford in the close season, but we needed Wakefield to take Shaul - they didn't so we had no cap space for Wallace. I would be surprised if he played SL for anyone other than Hull

Agree with the final sentence.

Whereas Trout might not be looking for the highest offer and instead looking for the best environment to progess and develop, Satae is at a different stage of his life/career.

He’s 31 so this will be his last significant contract, so I see him either staying where he’s settled or sampling the south of France.

Hopefully he likes pies and picking up trophies though so will give us a discount

You probably know more than me RE Isa. He's off contract and realistically, he's probably not got more than one more year in him.
