What’s people’s thoughts on Walters? Never seen him play but 6ft 6 prop sounds promising and the fact plenty of clubs were after him.

Good to hear. Got 4 young prop on the books in Byrne, Havard, hill and Walters (obviously if true) Mago and singo leave probs short of one experienced prop to help these lads. Extend Ellis and cooped

Given that Leeds put him in the reserves yesterday, I wonder if that could be brought forward like the Cooper deal was last season.

He was one of the best academy players in the country and it was seen as a real coup when we signed him from Widnes. He's always been a wide running 2nd rower until Smith moved him to the front row last year. He played in the GF and Smith rates him, but he's not lived up the hype or potential since getting into the first team. His work rate and defence are questionable, but he's definitely improved since Smith came in, although deficiencies are still there. He's got decent footwork at the line and has developed an offload.

I'd have liked to have kept him, but I'm not convinced he'll ever be the player he looked like he could be in the academy.

Happy with Walters. We wanted him when he went to Leeds, so no surprise to see us go back in. He’ll be some unit when he fills out, so it’s just now a case if he’s got the attitude/aggression to go with it.

Jury very much out on Walters. No issue with it as a replacement for Singleton but we need two or three experienced, proven forwards as well. Mago and Cust leaving would give us the quota spots. Let's not forget Bateman has already gone and KPP will so there are spaces to fill.

It definitely needs to be a signing to play as 5th/6th prop to start with (and maybe back up second row). We need at least 2 experienced forwards on top of this.

I hope, and think he will be used as a secondrow forward as a direct replacement for KPP.

We have plenty of young props we don’t need another. We need 2 older experienced forwards to replace Mago and Singleton not 2 kids.

I also expect us to sign another secondrow. I don’t think we need any backs.
