Dodd to Croft is a decent upgrade for Saints imo.

I worry for Salford. This fan share scheme aims to raise 250k (which they’ve not managed yet) and then what happens? Their chief exec came out with a line yesterday saying they won’t be able to turn down many more offers if they don’t raise that cash but what does 250k do in the grand scheme of things? It might buy a stay of execution and then what?

Unless a Beaumont, Moran etc comes in, it would seem they’ll get picked off at some point, so I wouldn’t be surprised if you got Croft.

That would be a good move. Wigan should be all over this as well.

If Salford are in the position they claim to be in, then I hope we can maximise it for our benefit. A nominal fee for Dupree for this season would be a huge boost.

There was a column about him on Facebook and a Salford fan commented that he heard a rumour he was coming to us, not sure it will happen, we don’t seem big on transfer fees and he’s got a fair bit to run on his contract, would be a great signing though.

He’s a decent player.
If he does move to Saints to replace Dodds that would be a great piece of business for Saints at potentially a low net transfer price. Saints have a pretty good record recently in hiring proven NRL players.
Maybe Danson could fund transfer fees in the short term?
I’d be made up if we replace Cust with a proven half like Croft.

It’s early days but I personally do not see the point of having Field and French in the team if Field is at 1 and French on the wing.

French is wasted on the wing, he doesn’t suit our style of play as a winger and he is a better 1 than Field.

Field needs to be our 6 moving forward in my opinion certainly short term to see how it fully develops.

Cust isn’t up to the job in my opinion, it’s not that he is bad but he’s not overly good either.
