I think we’ll sign him with a view to him maybe being in the 17 but I don’t think that’s guaranteed and in that case, I just don’t think he’ll cost the earth. I think where I’d call it a no risk signing is based on the salary vs the potential. The salary we don’t know but we’d both agree he won’t be a top earner and the potential is massive. If he goes just ok, he’s probably on ok money but there is potential that he could play well above that level.

Adam Keighran where would he play if signed him?

Centre if King leaves but I expect him to stay.

6 if Cust leaves but Field is probably the starter there.

Good player and goal kicker but don’t see where he fits.

Are we the club linked with him do you know? I believe there was an article put out the other day by Steve Mascord that may have linked us with him but I’ve not seen it (as I’m too tight to pay to view it).

He’s versatile and that’s usual (and would solve the goal kicking problems) but you don’t see where he fits as you say. The obvious would be that King doesn’t stay and he plays centre but other than that, it would feel like a surprise exit would be needed. Signing him would depend on how many English forwards we can get, as we still need 2 more on top of Walters (presuming he’s done).

Surprised at that but hopefully we can get him. I read a Q&A with the Salford CEO and he’s said he’s not for sale but threw out a line that if Dupree kicks up a fuss, that could change things. It felt like an invite for him to force a move.

I think it's a bit late for the "force a move" comment. Dupree & Iestyn Harris already did that with going public so in no way can Salford be seen as "inviting" him to force the move. The only thing the club can do is maximise what they get for him as seems he's laid his cards on the table already.

Not sure mate, going off some quotes on other forums/twitter I think it’s us that are linked.

On Dupree I don’t know much about him but glad we seem to be aggressive in the market. Transfer fee wise is Danson throwing his weight around ?

I’m all for giving young lads a chance but we have literally run out of first team squad forwards. Can’t really play a prop who’s 17/18 and never been full time to play in superleague so signing a prop would be welcomed.

His comments were that he’s fine at the moment but if Rowley says he’s disruptive or his head isn’t in it, that will be a different matter when it comes to a potential sale. If you’re Dupree and you want out enough what are you doing? You can force a move by being a bit of a clown, as we know full well with Zak Hardaker.

Ultimately it’s next to pointless in some cases keeping a player once they’ve decided they want out but we’ll see. Salford will want to maximise any transfer fee. It sounds like Wigan have gone above the previous HKR bid of 150k and I’m surprised by that.

Dupree and Walters along with an experienced NRL second rower would put us in a great position for 2024.
