Whilst technically correct it would make the annual losses even higher. I think we hover around £500k-£750k loss in a normal year (over £1mill during the covid years). Also SKY money has decreased and the club took a Goverment loan during covid which would need to be paid back.

IL was keen to keep losses under some sort of control, whether the days of the club being self sufficient (break even / small profit) are achievable is unlikely in the foreseeable I think (although the more events held at Robin Park the better), two 'Bongos Bingo type' nights are being advertised currently, Waneys bar open... Etc.

If Harvie Hill is going it will be on loan. They get Singleton next year who can take Harvie's place in the squad.

I'm not sure Hill's inclusion or lack of inclusion in the cup quarter final is going to make or break the result. Singleton should be back and it wouldn't surprise me to see Havard make that game. Wigan will be praying for no more injuries in the forwards in the Catalans and Saints games.

Having looked at the potential signings in Walters and Dupree I’m really excited by what this season and next has to hold.

The interesting point for me is where Walters will play.

I know he has been used as a Prop this season and played much of his junior rugby in that position but he has also been very effective at secondrow.

We have talked about the age of our props next year who it looks likely will be Cooper, Ellis, Havard, Bryne, Hall and possibly Dupree and Walters.

I still think we would be running with a young prop rotation and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Walters come in as a direct replacement for KPP and another 28 year old prop brought in.

If the club are looking at the bigger picture then it is something that we are probably going to have to do.

I said in the goal kicking thread that Dupree and Walters potentially coming in could really help us with that ability to bust defences open, especially when we’re attacking in the opposition ten. A player I failed to mention on there is Nsemba as well. He’s shown already that he is a big, powerful ball carrier and looks extremely difficult to stop close to the opposition line. We could see a total transformation of that side of our game next season if those guys come on board. If we could improve in that area, you have such a well rounded attack, one that can score from anywhere on the field.

We are interested in Oli Pratt from Wakefield for next year but he has a few offers from other SL teams.

He’s an excellent young prospect but I don’t see where he would fit in with us.

He needs first team rugby to kick on and if he is playing first team with us then it would be a sign we are struggling in the backs.

Any club looking at him would also have to pay a fee due to his age.

Best move for Oli would be to stay at Wakey if they go down and have a season in Championship or move to a club towards the bottom end of the table and look to get regular game time every week.

He’s from York so can see Hull being a draw.
