Fielden could hide his lack of go forward behind 2 impact Props, his defence is still solid.

True but these two offer a lot in defence also (Prescott especially). If we were to play with 2 impact props (I know this is all hypothetical) then I would like to see the aforementioned players names as staring props instead of Stu.

I am not slating Stu and I am definitely not un-appreciative of his defensive efforts (In fact I would go as far as saying I have been one of his biggest defenders on here). But let’s be honest, he don’t make the hard yards like he used to and I do not feel like he ever will again (at least not for us).
Anyway. I agree that having two big bruising impact players either rotating or spelling at the same time would be a great option. I would also wager that Feka would have his nose put out of joint a little and may be tempted to lose a stone!
Imagine Moi Moi and Paleassina trying to out-do each other by knocking over more opponents, that would be quite a spectacle

I agree all I was getting at was that we could carry a player like Fielden with 2 impact props as while he offers nothing going forward he still can deffend, leave the yards to the other 3 Props.

The funny thing is whilst i'd say something similar about him the stats don't back that up.

He's made more yards then Coley or Prescott(Prescott has layed a few games less and his stats are great for the minutes he's played) and thats with him playing from the bench for the past few months. He isn't the Fielden of old by any stretch but he does still offer us 'something' going forward. His stats still say he's in a group of prop forwards that may not be in the league of a Graham or Peacock but he's still in the second tier of props like K Leuluai, Lynch, Griffin etc etc.

I think we'll see a totally different Fielden next year aswell. I can't help but feel he's been money driven in his Wigan career and if he wants a decent deal at Wigan or any other club for that matter for the 2011 season he'll have to pull something out of the bag next year.

Fingers crossed.

He was (imo) a monster whilst at Bradford and i would love to see him play remotly like that for us next year. He owes us a good year but more importantly he owes himself a big year.

His is almost ridiculed by a massive amount of Wigan and RL fans and i wuld love for him to shut a few people up.

Time will tell i suppose, but hey just look at how Coley has changed.

Parts are and parts are not imo.

I think they give you a general gage to look at although you must take into account the amount of minutes players are playing aswell.

I think total minutes played for each player per season is a stat they could add into them.

I still stick to my original statement though that Fielden offers us something going forward. It isn't vinatge Fielden by any means but looking at him in general terms he's not a bad prop forward at his current level.

I think we all knew this would happen once it became clear he'd have a lot of trouble getting a visa.
