It will be a cracking appointment if it comes off. The improvements he got out of some of those Saints lads when he took over there were pretty staggering. Players like Makinson, Percival and Lomax kicked on a couple of levels but even more impressively, he even got a tune out of bog average players like Dom Peyroux.

Happy to see him back in Superleague should they get it over the line. Having better quality coaches in the comp can only improve standards across the board.

Back to the drawing board at Wire apparently. Sounds like Holbrook has turned the move down and wants to stay in the NRL.

A big blow for them IMO and also a downer for the game here. Sad times when a guy like Holbrook would rather be an assistant in the NRL (rumoured to be taking an assistants job instead), than take a head coaches gig here, at one of the bigger clubs.

I’ll be shocked if he does. He’ll go to the Bulldogs as an assistant I imagine. He had the building blocks at St Helens. Wire he’ll have to battle Fitzpatrick. I’ll be shocked if Briers or Waney goes, why would you give up what you’ve got currently to potentially mickey your career up the wall.
