Quite a bit of momentum gathering around the rumour of Croft to Leeds to replace Austin who has joined Cas with immediate effec. Great signing for them but would take a substantial transfer fee. If true Salford are really in the mire. Was stories circulating they could be going bust and will go down with the league retaining both Wakey and Cas

I should have said its been reported he signed for 4 years - think it was Andrew Voss who tweeted it. Looks like there's been a U turn due to NRL interest.

I'm sure he would prefer an NRL gig anyhow but I think it's easy to forget the level of upheaval involved in moving back and forth between the UK and Australia.

Looks like Leeds didn’t even know Austin was going till after 10 last night.

Smith said he woke up to the news this morning, so whilst they may make a play for Croft it seems unlikely this was planned.

Holbrook to Wire felt weird, he’s ticked off the “go to superleague as an unknown assistant and win a comp” part of his career.

The reported figure for the 4 year deal was a fortune though so was worth considering.

Heard they’ve approached Wane and he’s demanded 7 figures for the 4 years!


Maybe the current caretakers can turn them around.

I'm glad Wane is at Wigan but part of me would like him to get back to week to week coaching. Not at Warrington though! If he turns them down I'm not sure where they go - maybe Paul Rowley?

Now England have a proper schedule hopefully he stays there and stays with us.

He has so much to offer the game. I know he’d love an NRL gig.

I'd love that to happen but can't see it. He's applied for jobs a few times apparently - probably his only way in would be an Ashes or WC win. Even then he'd be up against it.

Quite a bit of turbulence at Leeds where Blake Austin showed a video of him slating the Leeds management and seemingly within hours Hetherington has seen it and Austin is now a Castleford player.
They're also seeing Myler go at the end of the season. Sezer is going back to the NRL and Walters is with us next year. So far I've only heard of Goudemond arriving at Headingly.
GH is going to have to make some signings and pretty soon.

Tomorrow will be interesting with the transfer deadline. Lots of talk about what might be going on at Salford and Leeds are now short on playmakers. Croft to Leeds is floating around but I also wonder whether Leeds might make a play for Cade Cust. Just a stab in the dark.

Myler is contracted for next year.

Can’t see Croft happening unfortunately.

Cust will happen IMO, i know he can cover 9 aswell.

What are your thoughts on Cust? I know it’s not really worked out at Wigan but at 24 he’s still young, is there a decent player in there?
