A story in todays Daily Express states that Bradford may have to sacrifice John Bateman the England Academey Captain to help finance their massive debt.
It goes on to say that his performances have been attracting admiring glances from both Warrington and Wigan.
Would Wigan be interested ?.

The Express is saying that the Bulls could expect to raise somethung like £200,000 by selling Batemen. Could someone be putting this story out to see what response the Bulls get.?

Why would anyone pay £200k for Bateman at present?
If the Bulls go into administration then a knock down price to the administrators would get his services.

I wouldn't pay that much for an 18 year old who is yet to prove himself anyway.

Neither would IFL.

Bateman is a very good junior player and if he continues to improve then he could be top class, the only problem is that nobody can guarantee that he will. Perhaps the way forward would be to agree a fee linked to performances, success etc.
