I agree, Brown is certainly not the calibre of player that we should be looking at, particularly in such a pivotal position.

Apparently its Wire and Hudds that are in for Bateman with Wire looking at Whitehead as well with tranfer fees rumoured to be £400000-£500000 for the pair Definatley not worth that. We are fortunate we have strength in that department not to get into a bidding war for young talent. I suppose that comes with the territory when we produce so much top young talent in house.

Half a mill for uncapped players? That is insane - well for anyone apart from Dire. Plus they are back rowers, no offence but they are a dime a dozen, no matter how good they are.

The thing is Wire have two very good young back rowers in Currie and Laithwaite, what sort of message does it send out to them if they go and sign Bateman, although I do agree he is a top class prospect.

that amount is only whats rumoured in the media and I dont know whether theres any truth or fact in it but Bradford must be confident of avoiding administration to be potentially attracting clubs allegedly willing to pay excessive amounts when biding their time could result in paying peanuts to administrators for top young talent rather than huge transfer fees.

Absolutely tremendous news. What fantastic service Lockers has given the club. He rejected the chance to move to the NRL a while back too IIRC.

That has to be rubbish surely. If it is true that is absolutely horrific business. Both lads have potential for sure, but both are extremely young & have had relatively little/no big match experience. Back row forwards is a position that can't justify that sort of investment. Halfback/hooker/fullback possibly, but not in the back row. Joel Tomkins was only valued at £250K. Insane business from Wire - hope it's true.
