Speaking with one of our scouts the current philosophy is we are looking at lads with the potential to be 6" plus in most positions. Thornley falls into this category.

I seriously though cannot get excited about the prospect of resigning Brown.

My mate played with him this year at Leeds and said he is the best player he has ever played with, but the lack of space you get in Union at centre hampers him and he will be back in SL next year with us

Thornley has been going well for Leeds Carnegie and was named in the Championship Dream Team a couple of weeks ago, so he's obviously doing alright at the moment. I would have thought Sale would want him in their squad for next season so I'm surprised if he's supposedly returning to Wigan.

Gelling or Thornley going left centre ok.
I'd be worried if I thought one of either were to replace Goulding.
Goulding has been excellent this year and those two have a lot of work in front of them to get to Goulding's standard.
