Wigan vs Leeds finals aggregate score.

Wigan 178 - 64 Leeds

Wigan wins - 6 Leeds wins - 0

I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass, and I am all out of bubblegum.

Don't you struggle. Don't you fight. Don't you worry, cause it's your turn tonight!

Agreed the notion that someone like Hampson should come in would not even be mentioned were it not for the fact he was an ex player of the club.

The jobs for the boys mentality is one I hoped we had moved away from, we need the best that our funds can bring in, not an ex player with a HND in PE (maybe a bit harsh but you get the point).

Totally agree jon, the art of conditioning is a science now as illustrated by the the practices that all the NRL clubs employ.

A little OT but who's are club Doctor? For many years I remember it being Dr Zaman however I see Prof Chris Brookes at all the matches now.

Jonh, that was the point I was making. As much as I liked Hampo as a player I'm not convinced he would be any better a conditioner than Forshaw is now.

Why not? It doesn't follow because he's an ex-player he will be a poor conditioner any more than it does he would be good at the job.

Wasn't Perrillini from Saints supposed to be top notch in this department and also isn't Pongia supposed to be a good conditioner?

I have no idea what qualifications any of them have but I thought Perrillini was considered a big factor in Saints improved fitness and ability to play for 80 mins when he was there.

I am not saying Hampson should get the job but I thought it was actually what he did now as his career.

Hampson is no longer involved in conditioning he has a non rugby job, the Pongia "conditioner" thing comes from the fact he is was a personal trainer at the JJB in Wigan, ex player, personal trainer never done a days work as a conditioner in his life, but because he worked in a fitness related industry it was assumed he would make a good conditioner.

Appollo had a very good grounding went to university got his degree and earned his stripes.

Hampson is totally untested in the game of rugby league, and while a great player has nothing on his CV that would make me want him to be at Wigan.

There was of course his brief spell working with the International game, for Tony Smith his ex team mate, again smacking of jobs for the boys.

A conditioner will have more contact with the players than any other member of the coaching staff, it is crucial the right man is appointed if that man is to come from the UK i do not think he will come from rugby league circles, as there in my opinion is nobody up to it that would be available.

Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

Me to, living in the West Yorkshire area I've always had a soft spot for Bradford and too see them as they currently are is a real shame.

It just seems to be getting worse and worse for them.

I feel awful for their fans! They once filled the North stand and now we are lucky if they bring 700.

Bullmania is now just a story.

In relation to previous posts, MaGuire will be here in november and Forshaw will be leaving and MaGuire will bring his own staff and one player

Freddy Flintoffs personal trainer in years gone by.

If he was poor he wouldnt have such a high profile gig as that one.

Anyway, enough of being contraversial.

I just hope our new man turns feca back in to the muscle ridden rampaging animal he was the we signed.

Freddy Flintoff the injury prone cricketer? Whose career at the top level has been cut short? Hardly a great advertisement for his ability, don't think there is any coincidence he had a short but high profile life working in the business, ex rugby player bit of a novelty and spotted a niche in the market fair play to him.

I think they have a team of Doctors now. One of them works at the surgery in Shevington. Can't remember his surname but they call him Dr Dave.

For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled.

For 27 - 0 you get a trophy
For 75 - 0 you get sod all.

Wigan had eight in a row
Saints have five in a row

So Forshaw is the only one still left standing, Pendelbury's gone Veivers has gone and of course Noble has gone so now were just waiting for the axe to fall on Forshaw.

Look's as though were having a complete overall of staff that many of us wanted, any word on when McGuire's arriving?

Not heard about that. When did that happen?
