Yeah, that would be good. Or, at the very least, do as they do in the NRL and give a pen for infringement on the first tackle. But I agree that six again works best in midfield, with momentum. Off your own line, or even camped on your opponents' 20, not so much.

If anyone has Wigan TV, I’d urge you to watch Matt Peet’s interview.

He’s spot on; our start was pretty soft and we could have gone after it more in the first 40. We were really poor first half and that’s what cost us the game. Watching it live on Saturday there was a real feeling of malaise watching that first 40; Sts were there for the taking considering the players they were missing.

That being said, the more you here from this Head Coach, the more it makes you believe we’re creating something special. He’s reasoned, measured and clinical in his approach.

The only thing I thought that he missed was that it looks like we’re going like for like with the 17 for Friday with KPP and Ellis. IMO, he got it wrong with changing the team so much from Wakey for the Saints team. I reckon with French at 1, Miski on the wing and Field at 6 we win that game last weekend. Onwards and upwards though!

He’s just always spot on. I loved his point that a win would have masked the poor performance.

Compare that to Lam who was dancing when we scraped 1 point wins against dreadful teams.

Just think last year we was no where and now challenge cup winners and second in the league with Matt Peet in charge the improvement has been fantastic at least more or less the same players but just a complete different mindset to the game.
How much improvement will there be next year with a year under his belt, bloody hell if we win the Grand final this year I cant see what else he can do I think we will dominate for a while as we are playing a great brand of rugby and I dont see that changing anytime soon.
I would like to thank Matty,Lockers and Lee for what they have achieved so far this year.

I was very impressed with his interview after the game on Saturday when I watched it back, same as I was on Good Friday too. He doesn't make excuses, he is honest and he is respectful about the opposition. He doesn't come out with wild claims and seems to be very measured in his approach and in his analysis of games. Basically everything that Lam wasn't. You can't help but like the guy.

The only time he seems to have lost his cool and composure a little was with the Matty Nicholson exit. I get that because youth development has been his career for a long time and I’m sure he had a plan for the lad (and he’ll know we’ve lost a potentially top level player). Other than that he had been exemplary and manages to keep himself together superbly well. He discussed the 3 game ban for Singleton on Wigan TV and even managed to keep a straight face saying he understood it. He did throw in that there’s a consistency issue but I’d have gone to town.

I was unsure about Peet when he was appointed but so far I think that has been brilliant.
His honesty on Saturday's result was a breath of fresh air. We did well to hang in, scored some fantastic but made too many unforced and overall Saints were the better team on the day.
He comes across as the type of guy who learns from his and his teams mistakes so I'm quietly confident baring any major injuries come the playoffs we are more than capable of beating them again especially if we can resolve some of our defensive brainfarts.

He has brought pride back into the club and along with thousands of others I am extremely thankful that he did this especially that this was delivered almost immediately upon his appointment.

Yes, all of that. We are playing good rugby, and we have a smart coach, what's not to like?

Go on then.... expand bearing in mind the below are direct comments about our biggest rivals this season.

Saturday’s game had plenty to excite fans and neutrals alike?

The thing that I liked about it the most and all the things that we look at in terms of how we measure a game all said that it was a really high quality, high intensity game between two really good teams that are going to play finals footy this year.

Both teams made some errors at times, but that comes with big games and there is so much intensity and pressure on them.

What needs to be taken into consideration is how good a team Wigan are. They have got some similarities to us in terms of how hard they work, how well they defend.

They have got some real strike players and if you give them an inch they will find points and they did that.
