I'm a huge Gaskell fan and as a halfback prefare him to Lomax and find it staggering he can't get a game at the moment. I rate Gaskell but losing Finch and replacing him with a player who has still not proved himself would be a huge step backwards. In Finch we have a ready made class player.

Like you say, if Gaskell was the replacement for Leuluai, I might see it differently. Think I would still rather have Lomax though.

As a halfback I'd rather have Gaskell. I think he is a better half with more potential there. Lomax is a good player but overated in that position and is not a half back for me. Lomax would go much better at full back imo where he doesnt have to play like a half and where a good pass isnt as important.

I couldn't see him leaving, the clubs changed a lot since he was last rumoured at moving to the NRL .

It wouldn't be a disaster but a significant step down from Leuluai.

The fact he's a Wiganer who came through our system will probably appeal to Wane as he clearly wants as many as those as possible in the team - rightly so.
