He's a limited coach that won't last long term.

That would make Wigan strong favourites then. With Ratchford at FB and Patton with Cronk in the halves, I think we'll do very well without Sam.

I thought Wigan played well especially Bateman and Bowen.
Not sure you beat a very good Leeds side that had Hardaker, Briscoe, Sutcliffe, Achurch, Ward, JJB and Garbutt missing.
As for Leeds getting all the decisions I would say the Smith knock on for one of your try`s sort of conflicts your statement.
And Wigan were as guilty as Leeds for forward passes and not standing square.
But hey ho we move on.

At home we have been very good overall and should be up for this game.
Leeds have men missing with JJB, Achurch, Ward & Hardaker.
Wigan win 28 - 12.

Do you think that missing these guys is going to be a hindrance to us? You are clutching at straws mate.

seems to be a difference in opinion with above Leeds fan from before the game.

If we are playing that game
Gelling
Thornley
Manfredi
Sutton
Powell/logan could all make a claim for a spot in the team.

It is.

Williams has been over played this season in my opinion. I have never seen a half back get tackled so much in one game as he did yesterday.

He's been overplayed because he was given the no 6 shirt. As first choice 6 he is expected to play all the games. I was told Powell was playing 6 v Leeds but Wane asked Williams could he play. This is despite Williams receiving several bad knocks recently.

Makes all Wane's comments about Bateman being overplayed ring very hollow.

Can Bowen pretend he is playing Leeds every week?

Bowen is a class player who reads the game better than any player we have bar possibly Lockers.

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.

It'a all about having a squad. No point bleating if you have players injured, cause players will always be injured in this sport...

True. Also, from Wigan's point of view we started the game numbering 1 to 13 apart from Bateman replacing Gelling. Must be quite a while since we got so close to our notional starting 13.

And last but not least, to all those people who wrote this team off.
To all those people who critisized this team...tonight's for you.

I stand by what I posted. Clubs with good squads have proven that you can seamlessly move players in and out of the team (whether due to injury or poor form) and not disrupt the cohesion of the team too much. So Hardaker didn't play, its not as though we had a fresh-faced kid replacing him in the team.
I'm happy that (taking into account our poor record against Wigan) we nearly snatched a point. As for a Wigan fan posting that Leeds are the team to beat, I tend to disagree. Cas, Huddersfield and Hull have played better recently in SL compared to the current top 3!

most of the matchups between leeds and wigan over the years have been close calls, with both teams taking slight wins and both teams sometimes running away with good victories and good scores. but if wakefield go on to win their final two games before the split whereas the likes of leeds, wigan, saints etc maybe take one win or a draw from the two available games, does that make wakey the team to beat? No.

the standings, no matter recent form, dictate who is the team to beat, otherwise what is the point of having a league format in the first place. form will put you in a good position if you are in the mix for qualification to get to the GF etc, but that's all it does. and that is mental more than anything. it doesn't make the bottom team better than the top team nor does it make the middle teams any better or worse than each other.
